RAJAPALAYAM INTERNATIONAL RADIO COMMUNICATORS CLUB
About Us
A Radio Amateur can say Proudly that, “We’re there when all else Communications are fails. When all else Communications are fails, amateur radio is there.”
Amateur Radio, also known as Ham Radio, is the use of the Radio Frequency Spectrum for purposes of non-commercial exchange of messages, wireless experimentation, selftraining, private recreation, radio sport, contesting, and Emergency Communications.
Amateur Radio (Ham Radio) is a popular hobby and service that brings people, Electronics and Communication together. People use Ham Radio to talk across town, around the world, or even into space, all without the Internet or Cell phones.
It’s fun, social, educational, and can be a lifeline during times of need. HF Radios, Hams can talk to other Hams in literally any part of the Globe. VHF and UHF Transceivers, Hams enjoy extremely reliable communications within their local community. Friendship – Make friends all over the world…
The word “HAM” as applied to 1908 was the station CALL of the first amateur wireless station operated by some amateurs of the Harvard Radio Club. They were Albert S. Hyman, Bob Almy, and Poogie Murray.
